Ngaruawahia Operational Support
The Ngaruawahia Operational Support unit currently has 2 members, and a response vehicle, Ngaruawhahia 2239. The van is equipped to provide support to the fire crews for lighting, traffic management and canteen. The unit is currently in the process of raising funds to build separate garaging for the van with a view to obtaining a larger van that can carry extra resources.
On average the brigade responds to approximately 180 calls per year. The station is situated on SH1 between Hamilton and Huntly with the main train trunk line at the stations back door. There is also a very significant Marae in the town, Turangawaewae, 2 Major industries nearby are AFFCO in Horotiu and Genesis Power Station in Huntly.
