Tairua Operational Support
The Tairua Volunteer Fire Brigade is located on the Coromandel coast. The population of 1,500 swells to 20,000 in the summer months keeping the brigade busy with a variety of different types of calls.
The Tairua Operational Support unit respond to every call out that the Brigade attends. They have a dedicated vehicle (Tairua 6329) – an Isuzu DMAX. This vehicle carries extra traffic control equipment, back up extrication gear, and a fully equipped medical response kit. It responds to all calls as required and it often first out for medical calls. The Op Support team also assists with traffic control, lighting and salvage.
The current OSU team consists of 2 members.
