Helensville Operational Support

Helensville brigade was formed in 1914 and the station has been on the same site. As a satellite town outside of Auckland, the majority of working age people travel out of town towards the city for employment.
The Brigade looks after a community population of around 5000, have a state highway passing through the town, and are close to the Woodhill forest and Muriwai beach. The Brigade gets around 250 calls a year with a mix of motor vehicle accidents, vegetation fires and the normal PFA's and property fires.
The Operational Support members are responsible for assistance at the road accidents, property fires and traffic safety on the roadway incidents. They also carryout smoke alarm installations and battery replacements for the community. They carry portable lighting for scene protection in their own vehicles.
