Woodend Operational Support
The Woodend Operational Support Unit currently has 2 members. The Brigade responds to over 200 calls a year. Our calls range from MVC's, Co-responder Calls, Property and Structure Fires and Vegetation Fires. The Operational Support vehicles are a 4WD Toyota Hilux and a Mitsubishi Canter which carries traffic management equipment, lighting, a generator, First Aid trauma kit and other necessary tools and gear. We attend many MVC's as we are on a State Highway with high volume traffic.
As well as 7726, Operational Support sometimes ride in the Brigade's Appliance (Woodend 777) on occasions for medical and other calls. As well as responding to the calls listed above, the Operational Support members support the Brigade in community events, fire safety, smoke alarms and house checks.
