Waitati Operational Support

The Waitati Volunteer Brigade responds to about 60-70 calls annually which includes a variety of call types including structure fires, MVAs, rescues, vegetation fires, storm damage and flooding. They provide emergency medical support to the local communities of Waitati, Warrington, and Seacliff. Additionally, the Waitati VFB works closely with the Willowbank, Waikouaiti and Port Chalmers Brigades.
The Operational Support members have a wide knowledge of operational duties, having over 50 years combined service between them, one member being an ex DCFO. Their duties typically include traffic control, managing portable pumps, driving duties, scene lighting, salvage, B.A. support stations, and scene safety.
