Te Karaka Operational Support

The Operational Support team plays a pivotal role in the brigade at Te Karaka. Responding to every call, whether it be fire, rescue, medical or special service, they support the operational staff by providing traffic control, rolling hoses, and anything else that needs to be done.
The team is mentored by Donald Bloomfield, an ex operational SFF with over 15 years experience. The team is also lucky enough to have Pete McQuillan, a trained EMT with St John who responds to and leads a wide range of medical calls.
Te Karaka is a small town with a population of around 500, and the brigade attends a lot of medical calls and MVAs - being close to the State Highway.
